The plant is located in El Ain El Sokhna Site. The project consists of 2x650 MW supercritical steam thermal power plant for interconnection to the National Unified Power System (NUPS) through the new 500/220 KV GIS Switchyard facility.The power block comprises two identical Rankine cycle turbine generator units, each with a nominal rated capacity of 650 MW.  The units should be capable of generating rated capacity using natural gas, residual (mazout) oil, or a combination of both.  The two-unit station arrangement shall include an enclosed turbine building, an open boiler building, a common control room, and all associated structures and facilities.
