Banha Combined Cycle Project (750 MW) Minimize

The Banha Power Station will be a 750 MW (nominal) combined cycle power plant in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration, consisting of:

  • Two (2) 250 MW (nominal) Combustion Turbine Generators, each feeding exhaust gases to its respective Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs).
  • Steam generated from the two HRSGs will feed one (1) 250 MW (nominal), reheat, condensing Steam Turbine Generator (STG)
  • The 750 MW (nominal) output will be achieved when burning natural gas in the CTGs with no supplementary firing in the HRSGs. The steam exhausted from the STG will be discharged into a once-through, single pass divided waterbox condenser.
  • Power generated will be stepped up though main transformers and fed to the unified grid via a 220 kV Gas-Insulated-Switchyard (GIS).
  • Cooling water for the Power Station demand will be obtained from and returned to the El-Tawfiky Canal.
